As we reflect on 2024, we’re excited to share the significant strides we’ve made at Ethical Arboriculture in advancing tree care and sustainable practices. Here’s a look at our key achievements this year:
Introduction of Innovative Equipment
One of our most exciting developments has been the introduction of our new Terravent soil decompaction kit. This state-of-the-art equipment enhances our ability to improve soil health, which is crucial for the vitality of trees. By effectively decompacting the soil, we’re ensuring better root growth and overall plant health and with adding this machine to our existing fleet we’re now up to three machines designed specifically for tree care soil decompaction and amelioration.

We also acquired a Tree Spade after extensive research and trials. This new tool allows us to move trees with greater efficiency and care, minimising stress for the plants and ensuring successful transplantation. By moving trees instead of cutting them down, we’re not only preserving vital green spaces but also contributing positively to the environment. Additionally, we’ve had the privilege of relocating trees that hold sentimental value for our clients, helping them maintain cherished memories while supporting sustainability.

Enhanced Tree Care Services
In 2024, we expanded our Tree Injection Kits aimed at improving plant health through targeted treatments and along the way treated over 100 trees this past year. This investment reflects our commitment to providing the best care for trees, addressing issues like pests and diseases more effectively with targeted measures.
Additionally, we focused on soil decompaction and drainage solutions, tackling challenges that affect tree and soil health. Our efforts in this area have earned recognition, as we’ve taken on projects outside our typical area, contributing to healthier ecosystems even if we have run up the diesel bill.
Commitment to Tree Risk Management
Our approach to Tree Risk Assessment has evolved significantly this year . We’ve worked to demystify tree risk, advocating for a balanced perspective on tree safety by utilising the VALID risk-benefit management & assessment system. This approach has resonated with many of you, as we emphasise that while risk exists, it is regularly overstated.
Accreditation and Professional Development
In line with our dedication to excellence, we proudly retained our accreditation within the SMAS Worksafe scheme and also added Construction Silver membership to the list. This recognition underscores our commitment to maintaining high safety standards and professional practices in all our operations.
Throughout the year, our team has hosted and engaged in various seminars and CPD courses, ensuring we stay at the forefront of arboricultural best practices and innovations.
Community Engagement
At Ethical Arboriculture, we’re dedicated to community engagement and education. This year, we showcased our work at the Rutland County Show, which allowed us to connect with the community and help some new clients with their tree care needs. Our blog also serves as a platform to share insights on tree care, plant health, and ethical practices. We believe that informed communities are essential for fostering a culture of environmental stewardship.
As 2024 draws to a close, we’re proud of what we’ve achieved together. Through innovation, enhanced services, and a commitment to ethical practices, we continue to lead the way in sustainable tree care. We look forward to building on this foundation in the coming year and making a positive impact on our environment and community. Thank you for being part of our tree-mendous journey. Together, we’re nurturing a greener future!
