Our Journey in Tree Care Fracking and Tree Surveys
Last week, our team at Ethical Arboriculture found ourselves in the bustling heart of London, engaging in a soil decompaction project that had been at the centre sparked quite a bit of conversation. As specialists in arboriculture, we often face challenges that require us to think outside the box, and this project was no exception.
This project involved incredibly wet ground with a perched water table running through the middle of the site which meant the site access was ideal for the truck and compressor, so we coupled up every hose we own and walked everything in to get the site done.
Theres’ a video of the easy part of the site on our YouTube channel and once it’s finished editing we’ll uploading the GoPro footage of the wet bits.
Site Development Surveys and Addressing Mortgage Report Concerns
In tandem with our soil decompaction efforts, we have been diligently assessing trees on sites prior to development and working with clients to survey mortgage report requirements. Trees are increasingly recognised as vital components in property assessments, and their health is essential for maintaining property value. Our tailored tree surveys provide clients with the insights they need, offering recommendations for preservation or mitigation measures during development, as well as highlighting any potential risks or considerations that may affect mortgage approvals.

These are the types of surveys we do:
- Tree Condition Surveys: Assessing the health and structural integrity of trees, identifying signs of disease, decay, or damage.
- Tree Risk Assessments: Evaluating the potential risk posed by trees to people and property, considering factors like location, species, and health.
- Tree Preservation Orders (TPO) Surveys: Identifying and documenting trees protected by local authorities to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments: Analysing how trees will affect the visual landscape and the impact of proposed developments.
- Tree Inventory Surveys: Cataloguing and assessing trees in a specific area for urban forestry management purposes.
- Soil and Root Zone Assessments: Examining soil conditions and root health, identifying factors that may affect tree growth.
Navigating Controversies: Our commitment to ethical tree care often places us at the centre of debates. While some argue that intensive interventions like soil decompaction can be disruptive, others see them as essential for long-term tree health. We firmly believe that informed tree management requires a balanced approach, considering both immediate needs and future implications.
Moving Forward: As we continue to advocate for responsible tree care, we encourage property owners and stakeholders to prioritise tree health in their planning and maintenance strategies.
